STEP 1   Copper clay and Bronze clay

Use separate tools for each to avoid any contamination.

Step 2     Open the pack to reveal sealed clay.

Step 3   Take out a very small amount of clay to make paste.  Add a little still water to the clay (one drop at a time) and stir with a wooden stick until the paste is a thick consistancy and store in a plastic air tight container.

 6.     Fold the clay into layers and then roll into a ball

 7.     Roll out, texture and cut in accordance with PMC techniques page

8.      Fire in Kiln and in accordance with the 'Brand of Copper Clay' instructions

9.      To remove the black scale pop the items into warm pickle solution and leave overnight

10.    Wash in cold water and use a Brass brush to clean up the pieces

11.    Use a burnisher or Agate to polish the pieces

****Remember to use separate tools or clean the tools throughly to avoid contamination of different metal clays.  Copper clay ourcome varies according to the brand being used.     The firing processes are different depending on the BRAND being used.

For teaching purposes it is not possible to complete the class in one session because the clay takes longer to dry and the pickling process takes a few hours.
